"Between Two Hells -The Irish Civil War Centenary” Diarmaid Ferriter Lecture

Thursday 26th January 2023 7pm to 10pm at the Tyneside Irish Centre

Professor Daimaid Ferriter is an esteemed historian, writer and broadcaster whose recent book on the Irish Civil War has been widely acclaimed. Drawing on many previously unpublished sources and newly released archival material, he lays bare the course and impact of the Civil War, the lives it cost, the reputations it forged, the fate of its survivors and how this tragedy shaped modern Ireland.

He has been Professor of Modern Irish History at University College Dublin since 2008 and is the author of 12 acclaimed books on modern Irish history. Know to many for his television appearances and public engagements, he is here to open the Library and Heritage Centre at Newcastle's Tyneside Irish Centre.
