St Patrick's Day 2021

Beannachtaí Lá Féile Pádraig! Dhaoibh Go Léir!

St Patrick’s Day 2021

This year is obviously very different but thanks to technology you can still celebrate the day online.

St Patrick's Day online Mass

For those able to join via Zoom, here are the details: Meeting ID: 848 0305 2762, Passcode: 402908

If you can Zoom, please do as everybody would love to see each other! The link will be open from 10 o'clock on Wednesday, just as people would usually start to gather in St Michaels, and that will also give us time to sort out any technical glitches. We'll start the usual airs at 10.15 before Mass.

If you can't Zoom, the whole of this will also be available to view on YouTube. The video will commence at 10.15am:

Tyneside Irish Brigade Memorial

At Eldon Square War memorial, the traditional shamrock wreath will be laid by Catherine McKinnell MP at 1.00pm. No crowd can assemble but the ceremony will be streamed and used to publicise the Tyneside Irish Brigade Memories Heritage Lottery Project which launches on 1st April.

Afternoon Session

Gerry McNeany is hosting a session in the afternoon, welcoming all of the usual Irish Centre musicians and friends. Some of us have contributed in advance so there are some interesting online collaborative tunes! It was great fun doing them and I'm looking for ward to the session which will include those and also solos in real time. Join us on Facebook to get involved!
